Daily Bible Reading: 1 Corinthians 10:13 Mark 14:38 Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation . The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.
Dealing With Temptation Some people have yielded to desires and habits for so long that, to them, it really does seem like they can't stop and they're out of control. The way out is to begin to starve the desires that you've yielded to for so long. It won't be easy but you can do it. It won't take long before the desires that once controlled you get weaker and weaker. Eventually they will have no voice in your life whatsoever.... When trying to control your mind, your best friend will be the Word of God. It's only through a knowledge of God's Word that you can determine whether you are thinking correctly or not.
Jesus was tempted by Satan Matthew 4:1-4 1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. 2After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread." 4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. When Satan tried to get Jesus to do wrong, Jesus answered him with scripture. In Matthews account of the story, with each temptation, Jesus said, "It is written" and than he would quote the scriptures.
We gain the strength of the temptation we resist. ~Ralph Waldo Emerson We usually know what we can do, but temptation shows us who we are. ~Thomas Kempis
What if I fall and give into themptation? We all sin, every single one of us. If you do fall into temptation, remember that God loves you and Jesus shed his blood for the forgiveness of our sins. Ask Jesus, with a sincere heart, to forgive you and he will. He does not hold your sin against you, but rather he casts them away to remember them no more: If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
