Daily Bible Reading:

Deuteronomy 6:7

Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and
when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.

Proverbs 22:6

Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not
turn from it.

Matthew 19:14

Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder
them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."

Hello group! Today I am submitting a poem in addition to the usual article. I was inspired when I saw my cousin at a mere 2 days old. He is the youngest baby I have ever seen, not to mention he is related to me! After seeing such a new young life, I had to write something, and the evening when I came back home, I wrote two poems. This is one of them. I hope you enjoy it :) ~Shawn~

Words Fail

Words fail my heart as into those eyes I gaze

Smitten, Stricken, mind clouds as if in a haze

Unable to describe the feelings that so grip me

As I stare into the bright new eyes, struggling to see

And I try, in desperate struggle to find

Words that can tell the feelings flooding my mind

Yet my struggle ends in vain,

For all words seem inadequate, plain

For there are no words to describe the light

Of a two day newborn, alive; bright

Eyes wide, seeing a new large land—

As I touch his tiny fingers upon his tiny hand

And so it occurs to me, the harder I try, the more I fail

To find words that can truly tell

What I feel, deep in my heart, soul, and mind

For words to describe such a wondrous miracle—

I shall never find

OUR PRECIOUS CHILDREN

Lamentations 2: 19
King James Version

“Arise, cry out in the night: in the beginning of the watches pour out thine heart like water before the face of the Lord: lift up thy hands toward him for the life of thy young children, that faint for hunger in the top of every street.”

In this world of violence and pornography, our children are in danger daily. They see most of these things on television, and sad to say, some of them grow up thinking that this is a normal way of living. I submit to you on the Authority of the Word of God that this is not the life that God wants for our children.

Jesus Loves children very much and is very protective of them and He expect us to love and protect them also. I have received so many emails in the last eighteen months from people who say they grew up in a home where love was never expressed. Our first impulse is to blame our parents which I did for many years. However, we need to understand that if they didn't feel loved when they were children then they didn't know how to show love.

We need to love our children and feed them with the Love of Jesus. It is not enough to clothe them and buy them expensive gifts. We must feed them the Word of God on a daily basis. They need to read their Bibles, but far more important, they need to see us reading our Bibles. We will never be able to quench the hunger in their hearts with the Love of Jesus unless we have made a personal commitment to the Saviour of the world.

Our children are hungry not only physically; they are hungry for love and attention. Are you loving your children to Jesus by your words and by your actions? Do they know you love Jesus? Have you hugged your children today?
