Daily Bible Reading:
Revelation 3: 2-3
But if you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will not know at what time I will come to you.
We have been invited to a beautiful feast, and invited to spend the rest of forever in the presence of Almighty God. Somehow I don't think we will care what is served at the feast, or the surroundings of heaven. Once we step into the presence God, and sit at the feet of Jesus, there will be nothing else that could compare, nothing so sweet and joyful. It's time for us to wake up, and listen for our Savior's call. Time for the wanderer's to fall in love with Him again. Time for us to strengthen what remains, and hold on to what we have. Time for us to declare the Gospel to all. I am going to prepare a place for you, and if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am. You know the way to the place where I am going. John 14:1 He is coming back for us, to take us to a place He has prepared for us. He has given us all the signs and told us to be ready. Our focus need not be on the latest fashion designs, the new house we want to build, or the latest cars being manufactured. Our focus needs to be on getting ready for the trip of a lifetime. When He comes we want to be found busy, with the work He has called us to do, anticipating His return, and listening, for the beautiful sound of that trumpet, calling us home.
Prayer
Wake us Lord! Don't let us sleep through the sound of your call. We are anticipating your return. Forgive us, for being apathetic, and allowing the things of this world to tie us down, and keep our eyes off of you. Give us strength, and wisdom. We want to be found busy with your work, when you come for us. Amen.
