Daily Bible Reading:
1 Peter 5:8
Be sober; be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

The enemy's most destructive weapons, are much of the time presented to us beautifully packaged, with great appeal, targeted directly at our weakness. When he comes at us roaring, we have no doubt about his motive, and are aware of the danger. It is when his words are presented with a ring of truth, and is twisted with a bit of logic, that we can find ourselves vulnerable. Before we know it, we find ourselves nibbling the bait at the end of his hook. It's easy to resist evil, when its obvious that it is evil. We have to remain alert, and not become so secure that we become careless. We must remain well grounded in His word, and in our faith, it will enable us to resist his deceptiveness, and cause him to leave us. He can search for souls to devour, but we do not have to be his target.
Prayer
Help us Lord, to remain always alert and aware of the enemy's deceptions. Give us wisdom to discern, and strengthen our faith, according to your word. We commit ourselves to your truth, and to meditating on your word, engrave it upon our hearts. We resist the enemy, for he is a liar, and knows nothing of the truth. Amen.
