Hello everyone. As you all know, today is the 5 year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. Today, instead of  a bible verse and an article, I wrote a poem in memory of those that died that day, as well as for those left behind who lost friends or family. I hope you all enjoy the poem.

John 15:13 (NIV) 13 Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.

Our Darkest Hour
By Shawn Walsh

It's been five years since our nation cried,

what was surely our darkest hour.

For twin planes flew from the sky,

and struck the twin towers.

At first just a single plane

crashed into tower one.

But out of nowhere a second came,

striking tower two when we'd thought all was done.

We cried and mourned for those who passed on,

but what was nearing, none could tell.

For unexpectedly a third plane stuck the pentagon,

dousing the building in a fiery hell.

And bless those truly brave souls

upon a plane above a field

who took a stand, with a final ‘lets roll!'

Even knowing they'd all be killed.

Then, as we thought an end had come to this hell,

and were mourning those that died,

the twin towers suddenly fell

and our entire nation cried.

I write of these events that terrorists have done

in Memory of the families left behind, and those that have passed.

And I hope our memories of 9-1-1

shall never fade and pass.
